Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

Food Works saves around 500 tonnes of food from landfill every year in Sheffield. This food is then distributed to local people on a contribute-what-you-can-afford basis through our market, cafes and ready meals.

We are always looking for volunteers across our organisation.

At the moment our cafe kitchen in Upperthorpe is in particular need for more volunteers in order to continue fighting against food waste and for a fairer food system for all.

Volunteering at Food Works Upperthorpe where our kitchens and cafés are based includes:

• • helping to cook meals
  • getting creative with the ingredients in both cooking and baking
  • serving café customers
  • using the tills
  • making barista coffees

A great learning experience for anyone who enjoys cooking, working with people and customer service. Full training is provided!
