Greening the Grey Streets in Sheffield

Nether Edge and Sharrow Sustainable Transformation (NESST) have successfully applied to the Aviva Wild Isles Community Fund for help planting street trees.

Urban trees have many benefits, such as providing shade in summer, reducing pollution and helping improve people’s sense of well being. They increase biodiversity by attracting wildlife, provide green corridors and help mitigate the impacts of urban heating caused by climate change.

NESST are raising money to plant street trees in the Highfield and Lowfield areas of Sheffield that do not currently have any canopy cover. The Aviva Wild Isles Community Fund will match fund £2 for every £1 that is donated until 5th Sept. If you can, please donate!
