Can Sheffield City Council deliver positive change?

As part of the Can Do South Yorkshire events programme, join Sheffield for Democracy at St Mary’s Community Centre (Bramall Lane, Sheffield, S2 4QZ) for a workshop asking ‘Can Sheffield City Council deliver positive change?’.

Despite decades of reductions in local government responsibilities and financing, City Councils still have a very important role to play in responding directly to the major challenges of our generation.

Sheffield City Council is currently establishing a new committee structure and ‘local area committees’. This workshop will debate the extent to which these proposals will bring about sufficient changes in the structure, processes and culture of the Council to support and enable local actions, in response to climate change, etc.

There will be a speaker and respondent, followed by a Q&A and open discussion.
