South Yorkshire Climate Alliance

Eco Church Festival

Sheffield Diocese hosts an A Rocha Eco Church Festival on 12 June from 9:30am-1:30pm including sessions for all ages. The free online festival links with ‘Churches Count on Nature’ week run by Caring for God’s Acre. Get advice and support for places of worship and church communities to make practical progress, including in their Eco Church journey.  Find out why churchyards are so brilliant for nature and why recording wildlife is important and reflect on ‘Growing with Trees’ alongside the story of the Bristol Tiny Forest team. Hear about nature recovery networks and Forest Church, or get expert advice on reducing carbon footprint of church buildings. Hannah Malcolm and Bishop Pete Wilcox lead a session of lament and reflection on the climate and nature crises. You can learn to communicate the urgency of climate change in the lead up to COP26 with local politicians with Rachel Mander (Hope for the Future) and Linda McAvan OBE (European Climate Foundation, previous MEP) followed by a keynote Q&A with local MPs Olivia Blake and Alex Stafford.

The event is finished.
