South Yorkshire Climate Alliance

Sheffield book launch – ‘Burnt: Fighting for Climate Justice’

Join Olivia Blake MP and Sheffield-based author and activist Chris Saltmarsh to discuss his new book ‘Burnt: Fighting for Climate Justice’.

About this event

Chris Saltmarsh is a Sheffield-based climate justice activist and writer. He is co-founder of campaign group Labour for a Green New Deal. Previously, he’s taken direct-action against the fracking industry and coordinated the fossil fuel divestment campaign across UK universities. His first book, ‘Burnt: Fighting for Climate Justice’, is out now with Pluto Press.

Joining Chris for a discussion about ‘Burnt’ will be Olivia Blake MP. Olivia represents Sheffield Hallam and is Labour’s Shadow Minister for Nature, Water & Flooding.

They will discuss the causes of the climate crisis, movements for climate justice, the Green New Deal, trade unions and strategies to win, including time for Q&A.

The event is free but ticketed due to limited capacity. There is an option to buy a copy of Burnt when registering with books distributed on the night.

This is an event hosted by Sheffield Labour for a Green New Deal, though all are welcome.

The event is finished.
