Tree-sistance

First screening of “Tree-sistance”, a feature documentary on trees conflict by independent local filmmaker and director of Blackbird North Films, Graeme Benson.

Residents of Sheffield’s tree-lined streets face a dilemma; give way to the seemingly all powerful local council who plan to fell half the city’s mature street trees, or, resist.

Tree-sistance is a feature documentary about the battle to save Sheffield’s street trees. But underneath, it’s about how ordinary people become self-empowered to save their street trees and local environment from destruction, and win. ‘Tree-sistance’ is a microcosmic view of an enormous, global issue. It is just one small example of the fight going on around the globe.

This is a completely independent, NEW documentary feature. If interested or you would like to know more, you can message me on FB https://www.facebook.com/BlackbirdNorthFilms58/
